Have you seen the fabulous farm prints over on Antique Farm House I put it on my pinterest board here for inspiration, but their store is going by the concept of limited goods offered for a limited time. I have seen these prints a couple of times though.
If you sign up for their emails, you will be notified of all their sales.
I have bought a few things there such as the weathered wooden tray that you can see below the tv here

But back to the cow...
I have inserted the Antique Farm House print onto the pastel drawing I made myself.
As you can see my cow turned out a bit leaner among other things, but I don't mind.
Here are two photos I took while I was making this pastel. The new thing for me was that I did not sketch it with pencil first, I just went straight for the pastels and as a result the nose sat up much further quite far into the process as you can see below.
What I really like about this is the exaggeration of the colors. This is what inspired the giraffe painting I did as well. You can see that process here.
Before I tackled that project, I did a smaller version in pastel.
Here is the pastel giraffe next to the acrylic giraffe.
Seeing then side by side, they are quite different. The acrylic one is much more stylized than the pastel one. I kinda like that.
Now, where should I hang that cow picture?
