Art work: My newest pastel - an owl

I have been on an owl kick since 2007. What can I tell you.

Here is a pastel that I made earlier this year and I took some step by step photos while I made it at art class.

Isn't he handsome?

First I sketched him.

Then I added some background colors.

Then added some more layers.
And finally some shadows and highlights and here he is again.

I framed him up in a RIBBA Ikea frame and up on the wall he went. Just in time for my Easter display.

He is going to hang out there waaaay past Easter though. Wait... is that a bunny rabbit hiding in the forever figs? I guess you will have to check out my third post today.
